The topic for my form was "Television Favorites". I wanted to find out peoples favorite actors, shows, and what types of television people are watching these days. In my first question I asked, "What is your favorite television show?" A majority chose other while "The Real Housewives" and "Greys Anatomy" tied for second. Another question was "Who is your favorite actor?" Neil Patrick Harris and Hugh Laurie tied for first and Charlie Sheen and Patrick Dempsey tied for last.
The next obvious question was "who is your favorite actress?" The options being Ellen Pompeo, Miley Cyrus, Leighton Meester, and Kate Walsh. The unexpected winner was Miley Cyrus, tied in second was Ellen Pompeo and Leighton Meester, and with no votes was Kate Walsh.
"Do you watch Soap Operas?" was my next question. There was an overwhelming 100% that voted no. Another very important question in television is "Do you prefer Conan O'Brien or Jay Leno?" Conan won with 63% and Jay Leno had 38%. Also, with all the reality television going on these days I had to ask if they preferred reality TV over regular TV. 75% of the people surveyed answered no and 25% answered yes. When asked "why or why not?" people mainly said they would rather watch regular television to escape from reality.
I can see how these survey documents could be very helpful in the classroom setting. They allow the teacher to gain feedback on so many topics whether it be regarding their teaching skills or what the students had learned during the class. Receiving the feedback in such an organized manner is very helpful and interesting to look at.
